Shakyamuni Buddha Retreat

This Shakyamuni Buddha Sadhana retreat will serve as the capstone practice retreat for the conclusion of our Dharma Gyan Summer Immersive.

Our lineage teacher, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, has often encouraged us to place special emphasis on the practice of Shakyamuni Buddha. Through visualizing the Buddha, reciting his mantra and reading his words, and connecting with his wisdom mind, we receive the great blessing of joining with the root and source of our tradition.

During this retreat, we will engage in the practice liturgy of the “Treasury of Blessings,” the sadhana of Shakyamuni Buddha composed by Ju Mipham Rinpoche. We will spend time accumulating recitations of the Muni mantra—the special dharani of Shakyamuni Buddha. We will also recite sutras participate in extended periods of sitting meditation.

We warmly welcome all practitioners to join us for this deeply meaningful time of recitation, prayer, and meditation.

Local practitioners are warmly welcome to drop in for any session at any time.

Scholarships

Our rates are based fairly on the expenses and labor required to host a retreat of this length at a remote dharma center. We have limited scholarship and work-study positions available for this retreat. If you would like to attend the retreat but need financial support, please write to coordinator@gomdeca.org.
